Duct Tape Purse(s)
Step 1
Decide what sort of pattern you want (I did black and white stripes) or if you want an all over pattern. Then decide how big you want the bag and add an extra inch to. Start cutting out strips that long lay one out with the sticky side up. Place the next strip over it with the patterned side down/sticky side up. Make sure it overlaps the first strip only a little, just enough for it to be stuck together. Keep adding strips until it as as big as you want it to be. You will have a square or rectangle (depending on the style you want) with the sticky side all facing one way and the pattern facing the other.
Step 2
Once the pattern for the outside is finished, decide what color you want on the inside. Cut out the same number of strips and lengths from step one and lay them on top (sticky sides touching) so that when you are finished you have one full size of the purse. Make another one of these following steps 1 & 2 so that you have both sides of the purse.
Step 3
Place the two sides with the outside patterns touching (this leaves what you want to be the inside of the purse on the outside). If you do not plan on adding a zipper you can skip right to step 4. If you are adding a zipper, read on. Take the zipper you are adding and zip it onen, then taking the stapler, staple it to one side and then to the other. Make sure you put alot of staples into it or it will pull right out. Once it is stapled in place, take a piece of duct tape and cover where the staples are.
Step 4
Staple along the two sides and the bottom of the bag, stapling the two pieces together, then run tape over the staples. Turn the bag right side out.
Step 5
If you are not adding straps move on to step 6. If you are adding straps, read on. Take a "D" ring (You will need 4 in total for this. you can get them at joann fabrics) and taking a piece of duct tape fold it around the "D" ring. wrap a few more pieces of duct tape around it to secure it, then place this piece on the inside of the bag body and tape it into place. Do this four more times with two straps on one side and two on the other. To make the straps. Roll a long piece of ducttape around a shoelaces. Wrap some more ductape around two secure it. Do this twice to make two straps. Feed one end of a strap into the "D" ring and secure it with duct tape. Do it for both sides of each strap.
Step 6
Take a piece of duct tape and run it around the top opening of the bag to cover and staples that may be showing. Double check that everything is secure and add extra duct taple anywhere you may need to.
