Although I haven't posted too frequently the last two weeks - and haven't put up a new how-to in roughly the same amount of time - that doesn't mean I haven't been crafting. I've spent the last few weeks surfing some of my favorite creation websites and blogs and trying out some of the DIYs and How-Tos I've seen. Below are a couple of my favorites, the links to the website/blog, and a sample of my creation based off of the DIY inspiration. Enjoy!

So Sorry for the lack of posts over the last two weeks. My graduation party is coming up and I have been exceedingly busy assisting my parents with all the festivities.

Fortunately I have the day off tomorrow meaning I can put up a huge post of projects I have been working on based off of other creafter's DIYs. I will show you what DIYs I LOVE and how they have worked for me.

I also have a tutorial I need to create for a skirt recycled from a flannel shirt - sort of a kilt-ish kinda of look. Keep an eye out for that in the not to distant (fingers crossed) future.

But for right now, I wanted to share with you something I am super excited about. The Fabulous Carly J. Cais over at the Amazing blog Chic-Steals included my Ballet Flip Flops in a section of her blog called Links of The Week! I am super excited and honored that she included me!

Please, Please, Please, check out her blog and see all of the other amazing Links of The Week! For now I'm signing off but keep an eye out for some fabulous creations to come!

So this has just arrived in the mail! It's Sweater Surgery by Stephanie Girard. I won this book from Cut Out + Keep for my T-shirt Romper. I'm very excited to start trying some of the projects in the book! All of the projects utilize the recycling and revitalization of old sweaters. There are some cool bags and dresses and even a few stuffed animals! Expect a review of this book once I get a chance to dive in!

Ka-Ching Earrings

Highlight your favorite accessory - your credit card! I had some matching visa gift cards lying around and I created these Ka-Ching Earrings! I hope you like them. I also strongly suggest against using actual credit cards - we don't want any stolen identities!

Let's take a moment, as I update my "inspired by..." page, to honor the recipient of the "You Inspire Brittany" award. She is the creative inspiration behind my feathered earrings, and yesturday she was the fashion icon on my day-by-day calendar. I took this as a sign and knew that now's the time to add this woman to my list!

And the recipient is.... Cherilyn Sarkisian.
...
Who?

Um, CHER! Duh.

Singer, Actress, Fashion Icon, Diva, Gay Icon, and Serial Dater (seriously, who hasn't she canoodled with). She's paved the road for so many performers who have followed in her leather-booted footsteps. This queen definitely inspires the eccentricities in my style (although you probably wont see me in a ribbon covering my lady bits, while a straddle a cannon surrounded by hundreds of sailors).  And I can forgive Burlesque; her outfits may make for some devastatingly fabulous How-To's and her performance was fantastic (although christina's was something to be desired). And my life-long dream? That she will put on just one more farewell tour. please, please pretty please?!

Now Mermaid Daughter, if you love this Mermaid Diva as much as I do, why don't you go check out my mermaid - I mean feathered - earrings and put on "Half-Breed!"
